Principal's Message
Welcome to Woodland! We are a close community of wonderful teachers, students, and parents, and together we embrace the joys of early learning at our TK-2nd grade school. With true collaboration, open communication, and a commitment to excellence we work in partnership to create an incredible educational experience for our little dragons. If you ever have any questions or feedback, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
A little about me… I have worked in education for 20 years, as a teacher, district administrator, assistant principal, and principal. Prior to joining NMUSD I worked in Capistrano Unified as a Coordinator in the Early Childhood Program, and prior to that I was Principal at Don Juan Avila Elementary School in Aliso Viejo for 4 years. I was also an Assistant Principal for 8 years in Capistrano Unified and Fairmont Private Schools, I worked with the Early Childhood Program in Compton Unified, and, of course, I started my career as an elementary teacher! I have taught PreK through 6th grade, and my heart lies with early childhood! I grew up in Costa Mesa where I attended Woodland, Kaiser, Ensign, and NHHS, then went to college at UC Santa Barbara, and completed my Masters in Elementary Education at Loyola Marymount University. I live in Costa Mesa with my husband, our daughter, and our yellow lab.
